Wellness at Kenyon

What does the Wellness organization do?

Picture
The Wellness organization is separate from the housing and though it includes those who live in Wellness spaces on campus, it can also include anyone who wishes to become involved with our events, who hopes to live in Wellness in the future, or just anyone who supports what we do.

The purpose of Wellness as a student organization is to promote healthy living and acceptance of these goals within the Kenyon community.  The organization tries to ensure that healthy activities, programs, and social arenas are available to all students on campus; this will better allow students to make their own informed decisions without feeling discomfort or lack of acceptance.  Some of the programs currently provided by Wellness include...

Safe Space:  Students who feel threatened by unhealthy behaviors in their living space can use the Safe Space as a haven on Friday and Saturday nights from 10 pm - 2 am.  The space can be used as a place to do homework, relax, play board games, watch TV, and vent to or request advice from two peer advisors.

Friday Game Night:  Board, card, strategy, and occasionally video games are available every Friday night from 7-10 pm in Gund Commons.  Game Night is a good way for students to energize themselves for the weekend and meet people with similar interests to them.  Free food is provided every week.

Yearly or Semester Events such as the Tea Party, move nights, DDR parties, and others.  Wellness is always open to suggestions for new events.

Run/Walks:  Wellness recruits students to assist with runs/walks throughout the year run by the BFEC and Kenyon Fit.  Students assist in set up and clean up, cheering runners on, and providing food and water for runners at the end of each lap.
